What is this? What does the title of this podcast even mean? What is a Stacklist?
All these questions, and more, will be answered in this very short five minute introduction. I look forward to a long and wonderful journey of interviewing founders and entrepreneurs to understand how they started and grew a company from idea into reality.
Kyle :
Hey there. I'm Kyle, and I decided to do a podcast. I started a company recently, and one of the books I read was 0 to 1. And I love I love the book, and I love the concept of of going from an idea to something that is tangible, something that's real, something that's in the world. But I also feel like the period between 0 and 1 feels like, I don't know.
Kyle :
It's an interesting journey to to feel your way around, to listen trying to listen to your gut, taking finding people that you can take advice from, and really sort of fumbling your way through the dark. And I find that process fascinating. There's been hosts that so many podcast hosts that I've listened to that I admire that that I'd interview some amazing people that have done amazing things. But that point in which they've made it or or they're looking back and reflecting on a life of, what what might have been also, you know, a lot of work and a lot of, toil, it also seems like we're sort of interviewing these people to tell us, you know, that of how you got successful. And I'm interested in the the murky periods.
Kyle :
I'm interested in the periods of the unknown, of where of self doubt and of, you know, almost empty bank accounts of multiple pivots and not being able to sort of figure out whether you're on the right path or not. Like, these are the things that I'm really interested in and and not just the tactics of tell me how to get past this if I run into it, which is useful. And and we definitely wanna hear those from founders and CEOs and and, and entrepreneurs that have started their own things, but what it feels like to go through that process. And for those of us who are building our own thing to know that we're not alone in that period where it feels like, I don't know. I don't know what's next.
Kyle :
And what's interesting is the path that I've taken while building Stacklist, the company and the the product that I'm I'm building with an amazing team, I have felt periods of pure inspiration and knowing. Not like opinion or, or guessing or or just like blind optimism, like knowing in my core, in my gut, like feeling it in my bones that we're on the right path and that this is something interesting and meaningful that is trying to come out into the world, which is amazing. And I wanna I wanna sort of hear from others who who might have felt things similarly or who might not have. And maybe they felt that about the the first chance they took, then they pivoted and they sort of stumbled upon something amazing. So this is what I'm interested in.
Kyle :
I'm interested in hearing from others who have taken that brave leap to just jump off the cliff, go do something big, go do something scary, go do something new, and sort of understand the journey and the mindset and the the and the tools and the tactics that it took to sort of get to that other side. And also the part is what's your 1? Like, what would what is success? Like, was it the first time you raised money you felt like, okay, that's great. I know that we're gonna be okay.
Kyle :
Or or even after raising lots of money, are there, you know, are there founders and CEOs that feel like, oh, I'm not even close to getting to where I think one is. And so this is what I wanna learn. This is what I wanna hear, and these are the stories that I wanna hear. And I hope that it's inspiring for, even for just one person, you. Yes.
Kyle :
You, person that's listening right now. And thank you for being listener number 1. But I hope it's inspiring. I hope it's helpful. I hope it's useful, and I hope more than anything, it just connects with something that you might be trying to do or inspires you to just take the leap because it's possible, and you can go build something interesting and useful and amazing too.
Kyle :
So I hope you enjoy 0 to 1. Wait. No. I almost did it. 0 to alright.
Kyle :
I look forward to seeing you on some future shows. That's it. I'm out. Goodbye.
